The places listed on the right side bar are areas of specific focus within this project. These areas are where the ancestors lived, worked, toiled and rested. They are also areas where former plantations where once situated therefore historical in nature. There are many other areas along the highway 71 corridor that we are researching for African American history such as Ida, Hosston, Mira, Vivian, Oil City, Mooringsport and Rodessa.
